Few Minute Take: GCB

ABC

CGB aka Good Christian Belles is a one hour dramedy based on the Good Christian Bitches book series.  Having not read the novels myself, I can’t speak to how the TV show uses or abuses the source material.  As a television show, I can say the premiere offered the kind of storytelling I expected based on the promos I’d seen leading up to it.

Picks of the Week: February 26th thru March 3rd

My viewing schedule was admittedly a little light this week, but I still found a number of entertainment options pick-worthy.  Drama was all the rage, and some of my favorites were more than generous with plot developments and great performances.

TV To Do: 2012 March Premieres

Perhaps my memory is failing, but I simply cannot recall a television season with this many intermittent hiatuses and series premieres sprinkled throughout the year!  Don’t get me wrong: I am in no way complaining.  Instead, I’m putting together another TV To Do list to keep tabs on the updates I need to remember regarding my viewing schedule this month.

Picks of the Week: February 19th thru February 25th

This week was so full of awesomeness that I almost forgot about some of its letdowns (ehem, The Walking Dead).  In fact, my two to favorite viewing hours were so fantastic, I considered having a pair of top picks.  In the end, I finalized my choices (expanding my top five to six) and stand by them.  I hope you enjoyed these and more in the last week, and that we can expect another great week coming up. 

TV Funny Business: Missing a Sense of Community

Perhaps because the dramas I follow far outnumber the comedies, the impact I feel from losing a laugher seems far greater.  Though Modern Family, New Girl, The Big Bang Theory and the handful of other sitcoms I tune in to continue to deliver this season, I couldn’t help but notice somewhat of a void in my TV diet.  It didn’t take long to identify what’s been missing lately: Community.

Valentine’s week brought more love and loss than even I expected this year.  While some shows were ramping up before a break, others were just now surging back.  Though February Sweeps may be winding down, the excitement from this week’s picks was plentiful.  Here’s what I enjoyed most.
